49,551,703 and still counting

According to the informaition at US Holocaust Museum (http://www.ushmm.org) approximately 5,100,000 Jews were killed by the Nazis during the Holocaust. Another source puts the known total closer to 6,000,000.

For the past 50 years the Holocaust has been viewed as "History's Greatest Travesty." We are reminded often of the importance of never forgetting Auschwitz or Dachau.

In more recent years the world watched the Bosnian conflict unfold with 8,000 Muslims killed in ethnic cleansing, the Rwandan tragedy multiply with approximately 1,000,000 deaths in 100 days and on September 11, 2001, 2,974 persons died in the terrorists attacks on the US.

We are exhorted to "Never Forget!" those who die in the tragedy and terror.

Here is another statistic to remember as President Obama enters his third day in office:
49,551,703 babies, in AMERICA have been killed by abortion since Roe vs. Wade in 1973. (http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/facts/abortionstats.html)

And President Obama is now going to give federal money (read "OUR" tax dollars!) to overseas non-government organizations so that they can now perform abortions. The money that we need here at home is being used to kill babies in other countries.

Did he have his fingers crossed when he promised on the Bible to protect the lives of ALL Americans?

Presidential Oath

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation: — "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

What is so difficult about this simple oath that neither the Justice nor President Obama could get it out of their mouths correctly?

At least they got the "So help me God" right.

Maybe it was jitters, maybe it was the cold. Maybe they didn't rehearse enough. As smooth, eloquent and well-spoken as President Obama has been up to this point, it seems a little out of character for him to make this gaffe.

Remember..."No Title of Nobility shall be granted..."

From Section 9 of the Constitution of the United States of America:
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

Apparently, one of the lady commentators in one of last nights inaugural festivities forgot this line, since she said " With the exception of the Kennedy's and the Clinton's, America doesn't have a royal family."

Remember that words still matter....

Remember that words still matter. That the meanings of words matter.

For example, 'hamas' means the following:
Noun1.Hamas - a militant Islamic fundamentalist political movement that opposes peace with Israel and uses terrorism as a weapon; seeks to create an Islamic state in place of Israel; is opposed to the PLO and has become a leading perpetrator of terrorist activity in Israel; pioneered suicide bombing
act of terrorism, terrorism, terrorist act - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear
Iz Al-Din Al-Qassam Battalions, Qassam Brigades, Salah al-Din Battalions - the military arm of Hamas responsible for suicide bombings and other attacks on Israel

Former President Bush and AIDS Relief

Remember, what former President Bush did for AIDS Relief during his tenure.

Since we live in world that values statistics and facts.

The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is the largest commitment by any nation to combat a single disease in human history. When the President launched this initiative in 2003, approximately 50,000 people in all of sub-Saharan Africa were receiving anti-retroviral treatment.

  • Ahead of schedule, the United States has fulfilled the President's commitment to support treatment for two million people. As of September 30, 2008, PEPFAR supported life-saving antiretroviral treatment for more than 2.1 million men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS around the world, including more than 2 million people in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • As of September 30, 2008, nearly 9.7 million people affected by HIV/AIDS in PEPFAR's focus countries had received compassionate care, including nearly 4 million orphans and vulnerable children. Globally, the United States is supporting care for more than 10.1 million people, including more than 4 million orphans and vulnerable children.
  • Nearly 240,000 babies have been born HIV-free due to the support of the American people for programs to prevent mothers from passing the virus on to their children.
